The new Loblaws at Maple Leaf Gardens

The last time I was in Maple Leaf Gardens was to work on a movie set which starred actor/comedian Tim Allen. The film was called Zoom. Back then they built a giant space ship which took up a lot of space.  The last major film they shot in that building was Cinderella Man starredRussell Crowe.  I was told you can buy food at Maple Leaf Gardens, ranging from the organic to locally sourced variety to exotic delight.   There was an 18-foot high wall of cheese, including a canteen, and a café area.  “Isn’t this available at all Loblaws stores?” I asked an official there.  “No,” he answered. “Only at this Loblaws.”  Sharing the building is Ryerson University, including an LCBO store and Joe Fresh.  When I went to the store, it was a hub of activity, including free giveaways. There was even a Jazz Quartet that played. So check it out!
