According to the police, a 37-year-old man was standing outside his home in Selmon Street, at Sans Souci with two of his friends when another man opened fire at them.

The 37-year-old received injuries at his head, hand and body while his friends immediately ran away. The police said, the shooter jumped back into his car and ran away.

The 37-year-old was rushed to St George Hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival. The two friends, also the eyewitnesses, were brought to St George Police Station where they denied assisting with the case.

In Sans Souci, the streets were yesterday filled with mums with prams, grandfathers out for a stroll and youths ambling over well-cropped nature strips.

A 23-year-old is charged with concealing a serious indictable offence and affray, while a 32-year-old is charged with concealing a serious indictable offence, affray, and possessing a prohibited weapon.

The State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad has formed a Strike Force Lobbe to study the shooting following a man’s death.

According to a police spokesman, the shooting cannot yet be related to bikie gangs or the stabbing of a 25-year-old man in nearby Brighton-Le-Sands a day earlier.

However, Superintendent Peter O’Brien said it appeared that three men confronted the man, who is believed to be named Neale and a member of the Lone Wolf bikie gang.
