Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s assistance to help identify a suspect in a sexual assault involving a female Coast Mountain bus driver earlier this year. The alleged assault occurred on January 1st, and investigators hope that the release of surveillance photograph will spark new leads in the case.

The assault was first brought to the attention of the public on January 16th when the union representing Metro Vancouver bus drivers posted a $2,000 reward for information in the case. The ongoing investigation has now reached a point where police need the public’s help to advance the investigation.

The alleged sexual assault occurred onboard the #22 Coast Mountain bus around 7 a.m. on January 1st, as the bus travelled south on Clark Drive near Broadway. The female driver was groped by a male passenger while in the course of her duties.

The suspect is male, 22 to 23 years old, 5’6” to 5’7” tall, and 165 to 175 lbs. He has a moustache and possible goatee, short dark hair parted in the middle and a light brown complexion.  He was well dressed and clean in appearance, wearing dark pants, and a dark-coloured pea coat over a blazer and shirt.
