Southwest Chamber Music’s LA International New Music Festival

Colburn School of Performing Arts (Los Angeles, CA)

This inaugural music festival will bring together the music of 15 composers from around the world in a fantastic display of modern music, new instruments and new art. Throughout the four concerts, you will have the opportunity to experience 25 compositions, including four world premieres and four special commissions. Artistic Director Jeff von der Schmidt and the musicians the Southwest Chamber ensemble will highlight works by Unsuk Chin, Vu Nhat Tân, Gabriela Ortiz, Kurt Rohde, Tôn Thât Tiêt, Milton Babbitt, Lou Harrison and several more. Each concert will include a pre-performance talk. Please see the description below for programs for each concert.
