The state members of parliament have strongly opposed the order which informs the chiefs to prepare for fresh elections.
They have claimed that no official communication on the issue was given by county authorities.
Bor Town MP Philip Thon Nyok told Gurtong that he only learnt of the new development upon his return from a peace meeting.
“No letter has been given to me to that effect and which can verify that there will be election of new chiefs in the communities”, said Nyok.
The local chiefs are up in arms and have raised the issue with their respective MPs to seek redress from the county authorities.
“Our complaint needs to be addressed by the government as this move lacks clarity and we are confused on whether we should stick to our respective roles or prepare for elections”, said a chief only identified as Aguek.
Some chiefs, however, said they have been served election notices by the Executive Director of Bor County in their respective Bomas.
