El Portal Theatre (North Hollywood, CA)
Shortly before her untimely death, Marilyn Monroe posed for what would be her final photo session. Marilyn: Forever Blonde is award-winning playwright Greg Thompson’s one-woman play commemorating the 50th anniversary of the actress’ death. Sunny Thompson (Greg’s wife) stars as Monroe, during that photo session, telling her own story through numerous actual quotes and songs from her many films. These are the final thoughts of a little girl who became a legend and in the process lost herself. At turns funny, sad, witty, scandalous and heartbreaking, audiences get an up-close and intimate view of a desperate woman lost in a world of Hollywood make-believe. Thompson has performed the role across the United States, Canada, New Zealand and England, with a 12-week run on London’s West End.
