Set in 1960s Baltimore, Hairspray tells the story of Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky), a misfit teenager who becomes a local celebrity by dancing on TV’s Corny Collins Show. Tracy’s love of dancing leads her to become an unlikely heroine, triumphing over both snotty teen queens and racial segregation. The film includes an unforgettable turn by John Travolta as Tracy’s mother and features teen sensation Zac Efron, fresh from his success in High School Musical. It’s a lively evening of fun, film and song in the beautiful outdoor amphitheatre tucked away in the Cahuenga Pass.
