Hiroshima has earned praise for their revolutionary blend of traditional Japanese music and instruments with American jazz, funk and pop. Singles such as “Roomful of Mirrors” and “One Wish” were crossover adult contemporary hits. More than 30 years after their first album, they’re still going strong, earning a Grammy nomination for their 2009 album Legacy. The band creates a musical world all its own with the luscious sounds of June Kuramoto’s koto, the thunder of o-taiko and the interwoven fabrics of jazz, Japan, salsa and more. The band will perform two 50-minute sets, and proceeds from the concert go to benefit Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches.
