Iranian-born Israeli pop star Rita hits L.A. for a world-music celebration with her latest disc, Hasmachot Sheli (My Joys). Though many of her platinum-selling albums have featured at least one song in her native Farsi, My Joys fully embraces that heritage, recreating the songs of her childhood. Chosen as Israel’s favorite female singer in 2008 for that country’s 60th anniversary, Rita’s topped that country’s record charts for years, starting with her first album. That self-titled release is still Israel’s best-selling debut ever. She kicks off her North American tour with this show at Royce Hall.
