Oscar and Emmy Award-winning writer-producer Aaron Sorkin and stars Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer and Sam Waterston headline this PaleyFest salute to The Newsroom, moderated by CNN’s Piers Morgan. They’ll join other members of the ensemble cast and production staff for a sure-to-be-entertaining discussion and screening of the HBO show, which spotlights the professional and personal struggles of a cable news network anchor (Daniels) and his ex-girlfriend and current exec producer (Mortimer) as they battle network and corporate influence. With plenty of Sorkin’s signature rapid-fire dialogue and savvy references to the political and social zeitgeist, The Newsroom captivated viewers and critics, and is scheduled to return for a second season in June. Also set to appear at this 30th Annual PaleyFest event are executive producer Alan Poul and cast members John Gallagher Jr., Allison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Olivia Munn and Dev Patel.
