It’s Christmastime, and young Janice is having a hard time dealing with the one-year anniversary of her father’s untimely passing. Her mother, a professional chef who spends her time manically preparing elaborate gourmet meals for no one, is no help. Nor is her sister, who’s clearly dealing with her own demons. Meanwhile, their once-grand brownstone apartment, personified as an actual character in the play, seems to be falling down around them, literally begging for repairs. Blinded and paralyzed by their grief, mother and daughter each retreat to the comfort of fantasy visits by their heros, Harrison Ford and Justin Timberlake. Ultimately, it’s these movie-idol visionary visitors and their demanding apartment that bring the two back to reality so they can begin their much-needed healing process.
