The Canadian Music Centre’s New Music in New Places presents ‘Junction the Dry’ -2 nights of contemporary music featuring Toronto-based musicians Stephanie Chua (piano) and Vronique Mathieu (violin) in collaboration with CMC Associate Composer Emilie LeBel to present music and sounds inspired by the Junction neighbourhood in Torontos west end. Toronto the Good was once commonly used to refer to the city when it was held up as the epitome of Victorian civility and morality. This title is epitomized by the prohibition of alcohol in the Junction neighbourhood which lasted from 1904 until 1998. It is only now that the Junction is seeing a wide-spread revival of night life. Junction the Dry will be a fitting celebration of the music and burgeoning personality of the Toronto neighbourhood. Featuring works by Derek Johnson, Emilie LeBel, James Rolfe, Caitlin Smith & Healey Willan Dates: Thursday, March 21 & Friday, March 22 Time: Composer Chat @ 7:30pm, Concert @ 8:15pm Admission: $25 (admission plus flight of 3 beers), $20 (concert admission), FREE (18 and under) Ticket Reservations: ontario@musiccentre.ca
