Beach Studio Tour Spring 2013 HOME is where the ART is. On May 3rd to the 5th you are invited into the homes and studios of local area artists for the 20th Annual spring Beach Studio Tour. Enjoy a self-guided tour in Toronto’s Beach neighbourhood, where you will find an environment rich with creative talent and natural beauty, and alive with community life. The Tour showcases the work of 25 artists in a variety of media including paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolour, as well as hand-woven fashion, glass art, ceramics, photography, sculpture, jewellery, handbags, and home decor. Participating artists will be on-site all weekend long to share and chat about their work. Visiting and meeting these talented individuals with enrich the joy of owning their work for years to come. This year’s artists include Caprice Akram, Barbara Banfield, Lara Bazant, Helen Billett, Anna Clarey, Julie Clark, Katherine Crichton, John Dowding, Ruth Elizabeth Hayes, Pat Hymas, Grethe Jensen, Shabnam Khosrowshahi, Roderik Mayne, Zsuzsa Monostory, Gillian Morris, Sue Obata, Jane Saracino, Dianne Shelton, Rachel Taggart, Sheila Thompson, Nathalie Vachon, Marilyn Walsh, Noriko Yamamoto. At every studio location you can also expect some refreshments and a ballot box ready to accept your name for a chance to win an original piece of art (generously donated by the artists). Admission is free. So grab a map, grab a friend, enjoy a spring walk and get ready to embark on a charming treasure hunt for fabulous art. Stay for lunch or dinner at a local restaurant. And if you are coming from out of town, make it a creative weekend getaway; there are plenty of great local B&B’s to welcome you.
