This time, it's going to be really special because this year also marks 100 years of Indian Cinema. And in order to celebrate the 100 years, the festival will showcase some of last century's most celebrated films like the first Indian film Raja Harishchandra (1913) and will close with the Australian premiere of The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

This year will also see some of the well-known Indian filmmakers making their presence felt in the festival. Amongst them will be Pamela Chopra, who will be visiting Melbourne to accept a lifetime achievement award for her husband (late) Yash Chopra. The said award will be acknowledging his contribution to films and his special relationship with Victoria. Besides all this, the festival will also pay tribute to him including screening his last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
