Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools (Los Angeles, CA)
This family-friendly benefit to promote arts education in Los Angeles features an art auction with work by Shepard Fairey, Michael Blasi, Deborah Krall, Mimi Ortiz, Katherine Ng and John Lithgow followed by a showcase of LAUSD arts program students and special guests. Additional festivities include a Whole Foods-catered reception and outdoor activities including face-painting, a puppet show and live entertainment. The theme of this year’s benefit is “Movies Filmed in the Cocoanut Grove,” which includes a variety of beloved films like The Graduate, Apollo 13, Forrest Gump and The Wedding Singer, so feel free to come dressed as one of the characters from your favorite movie. All proceeds will go directly to keeping the arts in the classroom and ensuring that all children receive an arts education.
