Hi There: My name is Imran Ibrahim and I’m one of the poetry event coordinators at SPEAKout Organization for the Arts and Community Awareness. I am sending you info on our upcoming open mic poetry night on Friday July 5 to be shared on your (blog, website, page). Our open mic series are a great opportunity to introduce oneself to the local spoken word scene. This is not a competition, rather a platform for the new talent to speak-out. Poets perform on a first come first serve basis. Sign up starts at 7:00. Each poet is welcome to perform twice if he/she prefers. All performances must adhere to SPEAKout’s values: 1- No profanity 2- No explicit sexual content or performance 3- Respects the diversity of the SPEAKout audience in terms of age and cultural/religious background Cover charge is only $5 at the door, whether you choose to perform or be part of our audience.
