16 year old Clarington Teen Robbed While Jogging

A 16-year-old male from Clarington was accosted by three youths last night while jogging but fled the scene when witnesses came to the aid of the victim.

On Tuesday July 13, 2010 at approximately 11:15 p.m. officers from East Division responded to a street-level robbery in Clarington involving a male victim, who had been jogging along Mill Street, when he was accosted by three male suspects demanding his iPod. A physical altercation took place and the victim sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention. Witnesses observed the incident and came to the aid of the victim. The suspects then fled, without any property belonging to the victim and were observed entering a motor vehicle and fleeing the scene. Officers continued with the investigation and located the suspects and vehicle and arrested the three accused males, without incident.

Three 17-year-old males from Clarington have been charged with Robbery. The accused males were released with conditions. Their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
