Trevor Samuel Edwards wanted by York Police

York Regional Police is seeking public assistance in locating one of two male suspects wanted in connection with two incidents of violent assault relating to human trafficking.

On Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at approximately 4 p.m., police were called to a parking lot on Lockridge Avenue in the Town of Markham. Responding officers began an investigation into the suspicious injuries sustained by a 24-year-old female victim found to be the result of a violent assault. On Tuesday, July 6, 2010, the same female victim was kidnapped, forcibly confined and assaulted by a man believed connected to the first assault. A second suspect was identified in relation to the forcible confinement.
 

On Sunday, July 11, 2010, Drugs and Vice Unit officers executed a search warrant at a Town of Markham residence, which resulted in the seizure of a quantity of ammunition and drugs.
 

On Monday, July 12, 2010, the second suspect, Tyrone EDWARDS, 30, of Markham, turned himself into York Regional Police and now faces various charges including Utter Threats, Party to the Offence of Forcible Confinement and Possession of Heroin and Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purposes of Trafficking.
 

Investigators are seeking assistance in locating the first suspect, identified as Trevor Samuel EDWARDS, 40, of Markham. He is wanted on an arrest warrant for a variety of charges relating to both incidents, including Trafficking in Persons, Assault x 6, Robbery, Utter Death Threats, Kidnapping and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x 3.
 

Investigators are urging Trevor Samuel EDWARDS to obtain legal counsel and surrender himself to police.

• Also known as Samuel Edwards

• Male, black, 6’1, 190 lbs., medium build

• Short black hair, brown eyes

• Forehead scar

• Large tattoo of sun on his left shoulder

• Possibly driving a black Range Rover

Tyrone EDWARDS has been held in custody and will appear next before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket sometime today.
 

Trevor Samuel EDWARDS is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, members of the public should not approach him, instead, call 9-1-1 immediately.
