USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…The Kapoor and Bachchan family are currently dividing their time between Mumbai and New York. Rishi Kapoor's sister Ritu Nanda who also happens to be Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan's daughter Shweta's mother-in-law, is in New York being treated for a serious illness.
Attending at this very moment to the ailing Kapoor matriarch in New York are Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan (who is very close to Shweta's husband) and Neetu Singh.
Nikhil Advani arranged a screening of his new film D-Day in New York for the Kapoor and Bachchan family.
Confirming this, Rishi Kapoor said emotionally, "It was very nice of Nikhil. He feels I've excelled in his film. My wife Neetu is currently in New York. Nikhil feels there is no way she should miss the film. So he very sweetly offered to hold a private screening for Neetu, Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan who are all in New York."
Says Rishi, "It isn't a joke to hold a screening in Manhattan. It requires a lot of money and effort. I am touched that Nikhil took all this trouble. I am glad Neetu is watching the film. She is my most honest critic."
Rishi doesn't watch any of his own films. "I'm superstitious about it. I did watch Aurangzeb and look what happened to it," he chuckles.
Says Nikhil Advani, "When I realized Neetu M'am won't be in India I had to do something. She can't miss this performance of Rishiji. She doesn't miss any of his films."
