Gipsy Kings, featuring Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo, return to the Greek Theatre this summer. The Gipsy Kings burst onto the international scene with their 1987 hit “Bamboleo,” selling more than 14 million albums worldwide and making them the biggest selling French group ever. Since then, they’ve received numerous Grammy nominations and embarked on top grossing tours around the world. Their music has been featured on television in such diverse projects as Dancing with the Stars, Entourage and movies such as Toy Story 3, Fearless and The Big Lebowski. These world-music superstars hail from the gypsy settlements in the south of France and their lineup has always included singers and guitarists from the Reyes and Baliardo families. The members of these families are known for their passionate vocals and spirited guitars, which are the trademarks of their ancestral musical tradition, “rumba flamenca.” This summer the Gipsy Kings are releasing their tenth studio album, The Gipsy Kings.
