THE BAD DOG THEATRE COMPANY CELEBRATES THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF TORONTO THEATRESPORTS WITH THE THEATRESPORTS FALL TOURNAMENT: BACK TO SCHOOL CLASS OF ’86 The Bad Dog Theatre Company invites you to experience a thrilling new tournament-style twist on Theatresports. This audience favorite has the added flare of a John Hughes style high school drama with the quirky characters you know and love. Two opposing teams will perform scenes inspired by audience suggestions and the audience will decide the shows winner. Its a collaborative, competitive theatre tournament with the crowd-rousing energy of a high school sporting event and the drama of prom! Directed by Toronto comedy mainstay Carmine Lucarelli (Unit 102) and featuring some of Torontos finest comedic talent including Lisa Merchant (Canadian Comedy Award Winner, Train 48), AJ Vaage (YTV, Thats So Weird), Gavin Williams (Bad Guys Finish First, Loose Moose), Evany Rosen (Space Janitors, Picnic Face) and Nigel Downer (Second City Main Stage) to name a few! The THEATRESPORTS Fall Tournament will take place at Comedy Bar (voted Now Magazines best Comedy Hub in Toronto 2013). Over the past three decades, Theatresports has featured many of Canadas biggest stars including Mike Myers, Dan Redican, Keanu Reeves, The Kids in the Hall, Pat McKenna (Red Green Show), Sandra Shamus (Governor General Award-winning playwright) and Linda Kash (Best in Show, A Mighty Wind). Invented by Calgarys world renowned Keith Johnstone it is the most widely played improv comedy format in the world and The Bad Dog Theatre Company (formerly known as Theatresports Toronto) has had the exclusive rights to present and teach it in Toronto since 1982, earning a reputation as Torontos improv hub (NOW Magazine).
