It was a mere coincidence but in an industry which loves to ride in superstitions and chance encounters, inclusion of a scootie in the kick-start of Running Shaadi.com promotional campaign has brought a smile on the face of its leading lady. Reason? For her debut Bollywood flick ChashmeBaddoor too, Taapsee had made her first ever appearance on a scootie.
"It is indeed a first," quips a friend of the actress, "When David Dhawan had released the First Look of ChashmeBaddoor, it had Taapse as the scootie rider with Ali Zafar, Sidharth and Divyendu Sharma as pillion. Now same is the case with Running Shaadi.com as well where ShootjitSircar has unveiled the film with Taapsee riding a scootie and AmitSadh and a newcomer actor from Punjab sitting behind her."
It wasn't all planned though. Apparently, the marketing and promotion team of the film was toying with quite a few ideas and one of these included a scootie. When Taapsee was sounded about some of the short-listed ideas, she jumped on her seat when the one surrounding a scootie was passed through. She asked the makers if they were serious about it since she had done it before. However once they nodded, she insisted that this was the chosen one as well since it had worked for it earlier as well."
It was a win-win situation for all and the theme was pronto approved and finalized.
Says Taapsee from Dalhousie where she is currently shooting for the film, "This was too good to be true but I am glad it is happening. A scootie was lucky for me in ChashmeBadoor so why not repeat the winning formula?"
In ChashmeBaddoor, she had played a spunky and fiery girl with a mind of her own. "It is going to be double the fun this time around. If you think if I was naughty in ChashmeBaddoor then wait for what I have to show in Running Shaadi.com. I am all the more fiery and mischievous in there. It is going to be one roller coaster ride, with or without a scooty" winks Taapsee.
Meanwhile she is also mighty excited about the Diwali release of her Tamil biggie Aarambham with Ajith which is touted to be a blockbuster in the making this Festive season. Incidentally, there is no scootie on the play there!
