Number of Midwestern states are facing a threat of high storms and tornadoes this Sunday. The National Weather Service has announced that areas of Illinois, southern Michigan, Indiana and Western Ohio are at a greater risk of experiencing severe thunderstorms including damaging winds and large hail. The service further informed that atmospheric instability and strong winds will travel to the northeast and Mid-Atlantic states by the evening after sweeping over the Central Plaines. The storms are anticipated to become supercells which lead to tornadoes, destructive winds and hail.

The Ohio Valley and its adjacent Midwestern States are expected to witness strong and long tracked tornadoes. Areas of Chicago, after experiencing above-average temperatures, is going to go through a threat for major storms. The storms are predicted to creep in over night in to Chicago and stay until Sunday afternoon. Gusts of wind with an intensity of 45mph are forecasted for the morning hours and are predicted to stay strong during the day.‘Winds this strong can cause minor property damage unless precautions are taken. Driving may be difficult, especially in high profile vehicles,’ said the alert received by counties of Chicago.

The weather services in Midwestern areas said that local and state authorities are continuously monitoring the changes in weather conditions. The critical weather conditions are calculated to diminish in intensity on Sunday night or Monday morning whereas strong winds are believed to remain in areas including New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
