The U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, will visit John F. Kennedys gravesite this Wednesday afternoon, joined by the former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State. The wreath-laying ceremony will be carried out at the Arlington National Cemetery as the nation witnesses the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedys assassination on Friday.

President Obama will also be paying a tribute to the Kennedys legacy by presenting the Presidential Award of Freedom to the 2013 recipients including the former President of U.S., Bill Clinton. The other fifteen recipients include prominent figures like Oprah Winfrey, well-known women’s rights activist Gloria Steinem, the late astronaut Sally Ride and famous country music singer Loretta Lynn. The day is expected to proceed with a dinner at the Smithsonian American History Museum where the U.S. president will be introduced by Jack Schlossberg, Kennedys grandson. The dinner will include current as well as the past recipients of the Presidential Award of Freedom.

Many members of the Kennedy family are expected to join the dinner including Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, daughter of Robert Kennedy and Jean Kennedy Smith who is John F. Kennedys last surviving sibling and a former diplomat. JFK was the 35th President of the United States of America and was assassinated in November of 1963. He was killed by a gunman while he was on a political trip to Dallas, Texas. He was shot three times with shots in the throat, upper back and the head.
