As Soon As Weather Will Permit (2014), an engaging and topical video work by the award-winning Canadian filmmaker and media artist Su Rynard.

In As Soon As Weather Will Permit, Rynard continues her exploration of cause and effect dynamics using a letter written by her Uncle Vern regarding his role in the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945.

Rynard confronts this period of history using a carefully constructed collage of home movies, archival footage, animation, and aerial photography as she seeks to unravel the family story that is implicated in the bombings, a story that was, as she says in the voice-over, “… just a fragment of something I didn’t understand at the time.”
