Pulitzer Prize nominee Craig Wright (TV’s Lost, United States of Tara, Brothers & Sisters) reimagines Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale as a domestic dramedy with a dash of magical realism — along with a few original songs — that plays out in present-day Minnesota. Winner of the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding New Play, Melissa Arctic tells the story of two longtime friends, one of whom becomes convinced that the other is having an affair with his wife, setting off a chain of surprising events that hint at supernatural forces at work. This Road Theatre production marks the opening of the company’s 24th season and the West Coast debut of the show.
