A man faces drug and weapon charges after two searches in Halifax on Wednesday.

Officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Section were conducting a search of a residence on Mandaville Court when a man arrived at 4:33 p.m. He was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and subsequently arrested. A second search was conducted at his residence on Bedrows Lane, where officers sized marijuana, hash, cash, drug paraphernalia and another loaded handgun.

Twenty-nine-year-old Michael James Dauphinee of Halifax faces charges of drug possession, possession of stolen property and a number of weapons related offences. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
