Theatre West (Hollywood, CA)

"Redhead"

The first Broadway show ever directed by Bob Fosse, starring his beloved muse Gwen Verdon, Redhead took home five Tonys in 1959, including Best Musical. Set in 1900s London, the story centers around a mousy wax-museum employee who gets caught up in the murder of an actress, after meeting and falling for one of the victim’s costars. The show’s a winning mix of mystery, romance, farce and great tunes, featuring the witty lyrics of Dorothy Fields and the music of Theatre West’s own Albert Hague. Billed as the fifth annual concert performance benefit for The Betty Garrett Musical Comedy Workshop, this Hollywood staging boasts an experienced ensemble cast and a special guest appearance by dancers from the Los Angeles Ballet Academy.
