USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Producer-director K C Bokadia's Dirty Politics has got itself into two serious legal problems just days before the scheduled release on March 6.
On Tuesday, the honourable Patna High Court issued a ban on Dirty Politics for allegedly containing objectionable shot of Mallika Sherawat draped in the tri-colour.
That is not the end of the beleaguered Bokadia's troubles. In Rajasthan, the slain nurse Bhanwari Devi's son has obtained a stay order against the film, as it is allegedly based in Bhanwari Devi's life.
On Wednesday morning, Bokadia, hoping against hope to release his film on time, rushed to Patna to attend a court hearing while the producer's brother air dashed to Rajasthan to combat the other legal tangle.
It's a known fact that any film that purports to depict real-life characters in Bollywood tends to get itself into a serious legal situation.
Harassed and anxious, Bokadia says, "My distributors are panicking. It's just 48 hours before release and we're faced with these huge legal problems. On top of all my woes there are the Holi holidays from Thursday. If I don't meet my Friday release I am in a serious financial mess."
About films on real life getting into trouble Bokadia says, "I've repeatedly said Dirty Politics is not about Bhanwari Devi. If people still want to make their presumptions and harass me then what can I do?"
The latest on the film is that the legal issues being resolved and the film is being released in time after all.
