Although created in 1987, Steve Rockwell’s Color Match Game has been played competitively since 1999, when it was introduced to resident artists at Omi International Arts Center in Upstate New York. Over the years, tournaments have been held in New York City, Miami Beach, Los Angeles, and Toronto. Tournament winners and selected game boards are here, for the first time, at Christopher Cutts Gallery, featured as acrylic on canvas paintings. Each record a specific moment in time and place between two players. They constitute, in effect, “conversations in colour.”
