Come have a post Christmas dance with us on the 26th as we
return with our 3rd annual Boxing Day Jam!
This time around we'll be concentrating on the sounds of RARE GROOVE.
For those of you not familiar with the term, it's primarily used to describe obscure Soul, Funk, Jazz, Latin, Disco and other styles operating on the fringes of the mainstream back in the 70s & 80s. A lot of these records simply did not sell very many copies back when they were released – not so much because of their lack of quality but rather due to lack of promotion, marketing and other various factors. Thus the term 'Rare Groove' is more or less a literal one…
Now if you've been following us for more than a few years, you know how much we love this stuff! It's basically our roots, our anthems and the bulk of what we've been playing at Footprints since day one! Needless to say, we are very stoked to be laying down some classics near and dear to our hearts!
