Saturday, January 2nd — All-day Jane Austen marathon!

1 – 11 pm

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of Emma, one of Jane Austen’s most popular novels and the inspiration for many film adaptations. On Saturday, January 2nd, we’ll celebrate this bicentennial by watching, dancing, eating, sewing, socializing, drinking tea, discussion/comparison, playing historical games, and general Regency fun!

We’ll watch several screen versions of Emma, interspersing them with the aforementioned historical activities. Think of this as a movie club x 10! Bring your quill pen, your embroidery, or just yourself, and prepare to spend the day with fellow Austen nerds!

Dress code: Regency garb encouraged, but not required. A few gowns are available for rent at a very reasonable rate ($20-$35).

We will take breaks for refreshment, games, dancing, etc. throughout the day and evening.

The film is free of charge; optional package tickets (for tea, food, dancing and games) are available at $25 / $20 for students and seniors. Tickets must be booked in advance; you do not need to reserve ahead if you are not buying a ticket.

Please note that this event is fragrance-free.

Venue
