Confirmed Arjun – Shraddha in Half Girlfriend Arjun Kapoor is getting into the Bihari mode

USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon were the original choice to play lead in Half Girlfriend. It is now confirmed that Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor are doing the film to be produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Mohit Suri.

A source close to the development says, "Though Arjun is not from Bihar, like the hero of Chetan Bhagat's novel is, Arjun and Shraddha make the ideal protagonists for the film. Arjun's street-smart looks go well with the character of Madhav Jha in Half Girlfriend."

It may have been slightly easier for Sushant Singh Rajput to play the Bihari lover-boy in Mohit Suri's screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's Half-Girlfriend, as Rajput is from Bihar. But Arjun is leaving no stones unturned to make sure he gets the character right.
Says a source in the know, "It's been wrongly reported that Arjun will speak Bhojpuri in Half Gilrfriend. Not true. His character Madhav is a Maithil Brahmin. And this community speaks Maithili, not Bhojpuri. However Arjun will speak in Bihari Hindi, with that peculiar Bihari twang.

He is getting a hang of it. He will learn more about and for his character after he finishes promoting his new film Ki And Ka."
Interestingly this is Arjun's second screen adaptation of a Chetan Bhagat novel after 2 States. And Arjun has not read either novel.
