Tickets are now on sale for Spur 2016: a multi-city festival of politics, art and ideas, whose Toronto edition kicks off April 7th.
Join us to learn the difference between Transgender and Genderqueer, to explore Human Migration and the Changing Demographics of Canada, to debate whether Masculinity and Political Tribalism are things of the past…and much more.
From April 7-10, twelve events ranging from debates and panels conversations, to book launches and satiric talk shows, will explore the theme of Our New Tribalism:
The 21st century has brought unprecedented change when it comes to personal freedoms. What were once distinct, assigned roles are inhabited more freely. Many greet this fluidity – whether it be cultural, sexual, or political – with open arms. Others continue to seek firm identities, clinging to the tribes they most identify with now more than ever. Spur explores what this means for our communities here in Canada, and for the world.
Tickets start at just $10, with a FREE opening event at the Toronto Reference Library, so get yours online at spurfestival.ca!
