East Thirty-Six, famed for its delicious cocktails and shareable French bites is the perfect spot for our Southern Shindig as chef Brent Maxwell takes us on a culinary adventure for some Southern “comfort.” Southern cuisine is a melting pot, drawing influences from the French and Spanish. The evening will be a mix of Kentucky and New Orleans-style cuisine with a focus on using local, Canadian ingredients.
And of course, there’s a bourbon connection as well. Bourbon of course, is the name for American whisky. The name “Bourbon” no doubt refers to the 16th century ruling house in France. And of course residents of New Orleans will tell you the name originated from the watering hole that is Bourbon Street and the Louisianan’s of course call Bourbon county home. Dare we call this the holy trinity of happy coincidence?
We are also very excited to have Jim Beam’s Canadian whisky ambassador Matt Jones with us for the evening where he will take us through a flight of whisky/bourbon as well as slinging back a cocktail or two to pair with the evening’s menu.
