Fall in love with Grace Kelly all over again alongside Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra with HIGH SOCIETY. Join us on June 12 for the musical adaptation of THE PHILADELPHIA STORY featuring standards by Broadway’s inimitable Cole Porter!
In her last film appearance before she became the Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly stars as Tracy, a Rhode Island socialite about to get hitched. Unfortunately for her husband-to-be (John Lund), her ex-husband — a jazz musician played by Bing Crosby — and a tabloid reporter tasked with covering the upcoming marriage (Frank Sinatra) are also head-over-heels in love with her.
The story may be familiar — it’s THE PHILADELPHIA STORY! — but the melody’s another thing altogether. HIGH SOCIETY boasts a score by Broadway’s Cole Porter, who is perhaps best known in musical theatre circles for ANYTHING GOES and KISS ME, KATE. But you also know his songs: "I've Got You Under My Skin,” “Let's Do It, Let's Fall in Love,” and "You're the Top,” to name but a few. Cole Porter standards in HIGH SOCIETY include “You’re Sensational,” “Did You Evah?,” and “True Love,” which was nominated for an Academy Award.
And, of course, how could we forget mentioning Louis Armstrong’s cameo in “Now You Has Jazz”?
