Back in the 70’s the classic novel The Great Gatsby was made into a big budget spectacular film starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow, but it was so boring it seemed to be four hours long. Despite the period visuals it was painful to sit through. Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann, known for the music video velocity in his movies, has modernized Gatsby to the max.
