Informs a source, “In fact it is a known fact that Akshay as well as Riteish Deshmukh read the film’s script just a few days before leaving for London to participate in the first schedule. Both of them carry a blind faith in the filmmaker here.”
Though one wonders whether this was indeed a wise decision since at the end of it all, it is a script that holds paramount importance in making or breaking a film, Akshay has his own reasons.
He says, “I wouldn’t call it just blind faith. You see, Sajid is not a narrator; he is an explainer. He constantly explained to me for months about exactly how he wanted Housefull 2 to shape up. I was convinced and excited about what Sajid was making based on everything that he had told me. So you could say that I blindly followed him and gladly so.”
No wonder, the team is confident that the tried and tested combination would do wonders with Housefull 2 as well.
“See, the fact remains that Sajid is an audiences man. He is not interested in making Star Wars. Instead, he wants to make a good Indian comedy that can be loved by everyone, no matter what colour or religion. Truly, I love him whole heartedly for that”, says Akshay.
Another major factor that allowed Akshay to take a plunge was his two decade long association with Sajid Nadiadwala.
“We worked together first in Waqt Hamaara Hai (1993) and haven’t looked back ever since then. Here is to many more films together”, concludes Akshay.
