Dhoom spectacle with Dream Team in San Jose

Those who believe glamor business is all fun and games then they're grossly mistaken. After a tiring time yesterday when the first Concert of the Dream Team tour in Houston ended way past midnight, Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra and Badshah took a chartered flight for San Jose in California for the second concert. A sleepless night followed by a drowsy morning and the sweat of the last night had still not been wiped out properly. They were expected to deliver the goods before a manic 10000 strong crowd at the majestic Oracle Centre in Oakland. The Dream Team not only delivered, they self admittedly had the best on-stage experience of their life…ever! I had a great time live tweeting about the event and it was thrilling to know that the Bollywood Hungama hashtag #DreamTeamHungama was trending at Number 1.

As you approach the imposing Oracle Centre, you know it from within that you are all set to be a part of something really big. The atmosphere inside Oracle was electrifying and I was all pumped up. Naughtiness was in the air when Badshah lightheartedly provoked the crowd that they are not supposed to leave till they've partied so much that the chairs break down. The American security personnel were perplexed to see the otherwise chic Silicon Valley audience going ballistic, climbing on top of their chairs, flaying hands and shouting out loud.

Earlier in the day at a press conference Karan Johar said that Dream Team concert tour deserves sequels. "Dream Team is the Dhoom of all concert tours and it surely deserves to travel to various lands," Karan said. The people were treated to a class act that was high on entertainment and laced with heightened aesthetic appeal. The lighting was stylishly graceful and augmented the entire impact. Katrina Kaif walked through the crowd and there were big bouncers following her. She went passed me and I saw that steely resolve on her face to hit the ball out of the park. It was pitch dark when Varun Dhawan descended from the long rope and ran towards the stage. He went past me and that nervous energy was written large on his face. Such energy is witnessed only in artistes who want to settle for greatness and nothing else. They are never too sure, and that drives them to always excel to the best possible level. Parineeti Chopra and Alia Bhatt delivered stunning flawless entertaining performances and for the very first time they sang together on stage. Alia and Parineeti sang 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' with a visibly emotional Karan Johar on the stage with them. Aditya Roy Kapur was aided by wonderful lighting as he flaunted the electric-guitar-look while serenading the crowd with 'Tum Hi Ho'. Sidharth Malhotra has a seriously big following in USA. A newly married Pakistani couple that I met over breakfast here in USA were big Sidharth fans (especially the wife). I joked with the husband that doesn't he mind such love for Sidharth considering they've married only recently. The wife with a heavy Peshawari accent replied with a wink,"Ye bhi to Katrina ke bahut bade fan hain, selfie lene ke liye kuch bhi karenge." Sidharth charmed Oracle arena with his laid back boyish charm.

It is 4:15 am and I am writing down this diary while we are being driven to the airport. I have to catch an early morning flight for Orlando. The interesting part is that it is a six hour flight with one stop over and Orlando is three hours ahead of San Francisco. It means that if I catch a flight at 6 am, then I am supposed to reach Orlando by 12 noon but due to time zone change, the time in Orlando will be 3 PM by the time we land there. The challenges continue. But dreams get realised only when one accepts challenges. The bigger the challenges that are won over, the bigger the victories. See you in Orlando.
