Hindus have come out in support of Jews in asking France to change the name of its “Death to Jews” (La Mort aux Juifs) hamlet, about 60 miles from Paris.

Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said it was shocking to learn that such a village name existed in 2014.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged French President Francois Hollande to immediately look into changing name of this hamlet. If France refused to change it, European Commission needed to intervene, Zed stressed.

Rajan Zed further said that country of Pascal, Descartes, Voltaire, Baudelaire, Flaubert, Camus, Sartre, Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Gauguin, Braque, Matisse and “Déclaration des droits de l’homme et du citoyen” should show some maturity and remove such hamlet name from its map.

What was more baffling that even the religious elite of France had not come out openly against this unacceptable name of a hamlet, Zed wondered, and urged His Holiness Pope Francis to speak on this issue.

Rajan Zed thanked Spain for reportedly changing the name of its town called “Little Hill Fort of Jew Killers” (Castrillo Matajudios) to “Hill of the Jews” (Mota de Judios) in May.
