Gracie, her eyes and her mouth still wide open looked before her where, floating in the air, was the most incredibly unbelievable being she could ever imagined. In fact, Gracie couldn’t imagine such a being. Therefore, he must be real, she thought to herself. And, interestingly enough, she wasn’t afraid. A talking pink mouse, and a levitating pink elephant boy. She remembered the line in the Dickens classic, where Scrooge thinks that his imagination is working overtime, when he sees Jacob Marley and he blames it on a piece of undigested beef or undercooked potato. What Gracie was experiencing was way farther out of her existing realm than any digestive disturbance. It certainly wasn’t her mother’s extra creamy mashed potatoes or the ice cream she had for dessert. Something strange and wonderful was happening to her otherwise bland, gray life, and she was ready, willing and completely unafraid of it.
Ganesha began to explain. “YogaLand is a special place where everything is as pink as I am and as pink as the beautiful face of the Goddess Lakshmi. YogaLand is very near, yet far away, for it is difficult for most people to find. In it, nothing ever goes wrong, there is only one side to every story and that is that everything always turns out wonderful. The ascended Yoga masters, known as the Yoga Rajahs and Yoga Ranis live there and, of course, all of the yoga creatures, who themselves, are very high beings. Time does not exist there as you know it here and everyone is joyously happy all of the time. There are pink waterfalls, pink mountains, pink this and pink that, my dear girl, but for now we must complete your first lesson. Soon you will be able to visit YogaLand, for you are on a Sadhana. “What’s a Sadhana?” asked Gracie. “It’s a spiritual path that leads to enlightenment”, replied pink, plump Ganesha. “This is why you’ve been finding so many pink things. You have been chosen because the wise ones of YogaLand heard your deepest heart longings for a different and truly special life. Now, let’s take that deep breath and finish your first lesson”.
To be continued . . . !
