Broadway and film star Idina Menzel’s “Holiday Wishes” is a new and popular Christmas album of mainly standards

By Stephen Pate – Broadway superstar Idina Menzel’s is riding on the popularity of Disney’s Frozen with her new cd Holiday Wishes.

This is an old-fashioned Christmas Holiday album done in the smooth style of Broadway and the great American Songbook. It’s nice to have Michael Bublé along for the ride on “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is a 90s Christmas standard that Idina does right along with the usual holiday standards.

“Holiday Wishes” is a timeless album done for today. Idina Menzel is a great singer with a strong, musical voice, just what you’d expect for a Broadway star.

“Holiday Wishes” is just behind Pentatonix in popularity.

On the Billboard 200, “Holiday Wishes” is # 6 of all albums all types of music. On Amazon.com “Holiday Wishes” gets 4.5 stars out of 5 and is #14 on the Top 100. On iTunes Holiday Wishes – Idina Menzel is Mastered For iTunes and a Top Pick and rising at #32.
