Rains Affect Harvest In Lakes State

Lakes state Governor Chol Tong Mayay announced that the best farmers in the coming season will be awarded by State Ministry of Agriculture. 

Rumbek Central County Commissioner, Abraham Mayen Kuc confirmed that crop harvest failed due to lack of rain.

According to the commissioner, the rains stopped in July when most farmers were preparing to plant.

Most farmers have taken farming seriously following the move by the state government to announce and encourage farming through radio announcements but many have been disappointed by the lack of rains.
