Marlene Anna Grenier charged with 2008 murder of Rick Marques in Vancouver

On March 24th, 2008 police were called to the home of Henrique Manuel Marques.

Rick Marques was found dead by family members and based on our initial investigation and findings we began an arduous and extensive 2 year investigation into his murder.

You may recall at the time polce appealed to the public for information about a dvd/vcr player that went missing from Rick’s apartment.

While that was never found, other evidence came to light that kept this investigation open and very active.

Information gathered by Homicide Detectives, who never gave up despite the time lapsing, eventually bore fruit and we’re now able to announce that one person has been arrested and charged in Rick’s murder.

Marlene Anna Grenier, a 31 year old woman from Vancouver, was arrested yesterday afternoon in Vancouver by Homicide Detectives and a charge of first degree murder was laid by Crown Counsel this morning.

Ms. Grenier is known to police. She is scheduled to appear in court today.
