The former National Security Agency contractor, Edward Snowden, says his mission is accomplished. In his first face to face interview after the NSA (National Security Agency) leaks he says he won when he leaked information and secret details about the NSA’s surveillance programs.

‘I already won. As soon as the journalists were able to work, everything that I had been trying to do was validated. Because, remember, I didn’t want to change society. I wanted to give society a chance to determine if it should change itself,’ informed Snowden. ‘All I wanted was for the public to be able to have a say in how they are governed,’ he added. ‘That is a milestone we left a long time ago. Right now, all we are looking at are stretch goals.’

Edward Snowden is currently living in Moscow under temporary asylum. He said he is satisfied with what he accomplished after leaking the information because now the Americans have access to it and can use it appropriately. His first disclosure showed how NSA secretly stored a collection of public telephone records. He revealed these documents in the June of 2013. In his interview to the Washington Post he said he still considers himself as an NSA employee. ‘I am working to improve the NSA,’ said Snowden. ‘I am still working for the NSA right now. They are the only ones who don’t realize it.’
