Human remain discovered from an island near Sheffield identified as of missing man David John Watt

Human remains which were discovered on an island near Sheffield, N.B. in August have been positively identified as those of 40-year-old David John Watt, a transient who had been residing in Fredericton. David Watt had been reported missing to the FrederictonPolice Force in February 2014 and was last seen in the Fredericton on December 2, 2013.

Police were able to identify Mr. Watt through the police investigation and informationsupplied by the public.

The circumstances surrounding David Watt’s death are still under investigation as his cause of death has not yet been determined. The Oromocto RCMP and Fredericton PoliceForce are working together on the investigation.
