Surviving Mama: A New Drama That Looks at Family Role Reversal

Edgemar Center for the Arts (Santa Monica, CA)

Edgemar Center for the Arts presents the world premiere of the emotional new drama Surviving Mama by Sonia Levitin. Marlena has been one tough cookie. She survived the horrors of the Holocaust and a bad marriage, and eventually made a life for herself and her daughters in America. She endured much and sacrificed a lot for the sake of her Francine, Anne and Stella. Now Marlena is aging, and the question of her future looms large. There’s the prospect of a late-in-life courtship by a charming mature gentleman, but her daughters must make some decisions soon. She’s given them everything. Can they do the same for her now? Will they do what’s right, or what’s convenient? Doug Kaback directs.
