It is with great sadness that the Toronto Police Service informs the public of the death of Constable Riccardo Torchia, 30.
On Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at 2 p.m., Constable Torchia was off-duty at the time and operating a motorcycle on Highway 7, in Vaughan, when he was involved in a collision.
The collision is being investigated by the York Regional Police.
The TPS is asking that the media refrain from contacting Constable Torchia’s family.
