Toronto Police has confirmed that one of the member of an American group of friends on a weekend bachelor party getaway at a College St. club became victim of a “completely unprovoked attack” from a group of seven to nine locals and lost his life due to the assault. Reports confirm that a 24-year-old man from Maryland separated from his friends just before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday outside Blind Tiger nightclub after which a bar fight caused the city’s latest homicide.
Homicide Det. Rob North mentioned in his remarks that “he was punched at least one time, fell to the ground and he was kicked and stomped on, on his head.” Detective North explained that “it happened just west of the club. There’s a hot dog vendor and our deceased was located about 50 feet (15 metres) south of the intersection of College and Manning, on Manning Ave.” The victim lost his life while the first responders were preparing him to be transported to St. Michael’s Hospital.
Police has confirmed that it is vigorously investigating the incident and currently on the hunt for two primary suspects last seen fleeing southbound on Manning. The description of suspects’ pictures the first one to be a 26 years old white man with short black hair and a slim build. Whereas, the second suspect’s appearance is shared as an almost 27 years old black with “built like a football player.”
