As a result of information and evidence collected so far in this investigation, the Kelowna RCMP’s serious crimes unit can confirm that:

Jonathan Bacon, aged 30 of Abbotsford who is associated to the Red Scorpions, died as a result of injuries sustained in yesterday’s shooting at the Grand Hotel. He was one of five persons within the white SUV.

Three other persons within the vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries and are expected to recover, two of these three were females.

One person within the vehicle fled the area and has not yet been located.

The injured male, that was removed from the vehicle, is a known full patch Hell’s Angel from the Lower Mainland.

There have been no arrests made yet in connection to this incident.

All indications lead police to believe that this incident was linked to organized crime and was targeted.

The number of suspects involved is not yet known.

We do not yet know:

Of any confirmed connection involving the burned out vehicle that was located within hours of the shooting.

The type or description of the firearms used in the incident.
